I bet you don’t know that Isaia’s an amazing guitarist? Well, I didn’t either, until he sent me his version of “Knocking on Heaven’s door”. I knew then I just HAD to write a song with him.
And so we did, had so much fun in the process too considering we’re miles apart with no convenient overlapping timezones and absolutely no expertise nor proper tools for recording.
We wrote ‘Not Today’ in about three weeks and by the time we finished, we were both too exhausted to think about the music video. But in case it–you know–sucked big time, we thought it was wise to distract you with our art. Ha! Yet drawing sketches to fill a three-minute-space felt so daunting, considering our usual month-long projects resulted in only one minute videos! But we got tricks up our sleeves, and so does Sketch Club! Isaia recorded drawing his landscape an voila-we got the chorus covered already. Ha! As usual, my job is to draw the character. I did record drawing her but it didn’t make sense for the ‘story’ we tried to convey so we didn’t end up using it. Instead, I just drew her in various poses. So here it is! I still can’t believe we did it! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it. I just need to say, this is a dream come true for me. I have always wanted to do a multimedia project, mixing art, music and words into one. Finally. I am here. Who could have known the person who made it possible lived halfway across the world? Thanks, Isaia 🙂 |
Music done using Garageband and Sony Acid, except for the guitar part which Isaia recorded live.
All sketches drawn using Sketch Club and animated with Sketch Club and Sony Vegas.
